Mr. & Mrs.

If you know anything about Aaron and I, you know that even though we are adorable, we are actually adorably awkward. We are very bad at appearing romantic, and so this photo session was a lot of fun because it was a lot of laughing at ourselves. Our photographer, Auston, told us, "Okay, so I need a lot of love, lots of kissing, and lots of laughing." A little while into the photo shoot, I laugh, "Ya know, the whole wedding photos thing is kind of awkward." Auston from behind his camera replies, "Well, the whole wedding thing is kind of awkward." I look down at my poofy white wedding gown, a little damp from the grass I'm standing on and think of my enormous family sitting inside an old barn eating and walking around looking at pictures of us. "True," I affirm. It's funny to really take a look at what a wedding is; it is awkward! Haha, you have to not only walk down an aisle in front of everyone you've ever known while trying not to trip and rip the ridiculous dress you are wearing, but then dance in front of them, eat cake in front of them, and then you pay someone with a camera to capture it all on film forever!! But, you think about it, for some reason, we are all able to endure it; to endure the possibly embarrassing best man speech, the inevitable sweat trap tuxedos, and envisioning all the ways the relatives could clash- for that day. The day you spend joining together in love, and sharing it with your friends and family. All the craziness will fade away, and even though nothing went exactly right, you'll still be able to look back on it, and say- wow, this was such a great day. Now that I've totally killed this love story with some awkward reality, I hope you enjoy the pictures of my groom and I basking in our silliness and the happiness of our new life beginning together.

"We'll look back someday, at this moment that we're in, and I'll look at you and say, 'and I thought I loved you then.'"

We were about to leave when Auston asked us for one more photo. He led us up to the loft where we had had a photo booth for our guests. He made us sit down and take a few silly photos together before we left. I'm so glad he did, because this one really captured us and our skill of intense silliness. We were clearly very ready to get out of there and on to our honeymoon in Jamaica!
